The Japanese company is the first on the market to develop Trapis, a pigment printing system based on high-quality transfer technology, high productivity and sustainability.
Trapis – Transfer Pigment System is the name of the new solution Mimaki is using to revolutionise pigment printing based on transfer technology, thus avoiding all the problems of printing directly on fabrics. The Japanese company – of which System Milano is a certified dealer – has developed the first system of its kind on the market, exploiting all its more than 20 years of engineering expertise to combine extremely high image quality with high productivity together with time-saving value-added functionality.
Through the interaction of printer, TP410 ink, paper (Coldenhove’s Texcol pigment transfer paper is ideal) and a heat press from a European manufacturer recommended by Mimaki, Trapis opens up new possibilities with respect to traditional textile printing processes, making it possible for anyone to easily print on all types of fabrics, including natural fibres.
Trapis can easily be set up anywhere, unlike the conventional process which requires huge amounts of water and generates a large amount of wastewater, placing restrictions on the location where the system can be installed. Lending further confirmation to the sustainable nature of the new Mimaki-branded system, ink consumption is reduced by more than 60%; in addition, the safety and environmental parameters meet the requirements necessary to achieve the most demanding certifications.
